How soon will I get my order?

Every lampshade you order from Ashling Designs is custom made for you. We have no stock on hand. We will give you a shipping date with your order confirmation. Retail orders for fabric lampshades usually ship within 10 business days after payment is received. Chamois lampshades usually take about a month to ship. If we're especially busy, or come down with the flu, etc. it can be a little longer. Please keep this in mind when you place your order. If something happens to delay the shipping of your order I'll e-mail and let you know.

What's your return policy?

Everything is returnable for refund or exchange. Just send it back within a week or so of receiving it. Customized or special order items are not returnable.

What are the painted lampshades made of?

The painted lampshades are made from natural colored, undyed cotton canvas. The "natural" canvas is a light, off white. I know that in some of the pictures, the canvas looks white (forest mist, for example), and in others it looks sort of a tan color (like on the aspens). I only use one color of canvas (really!), and the difference is partly an optical illusion, and partly how we lit the photograph. The Leaves and Vine design is made from two layers of cotton muslin, with the outer layer a tea dyed color, which is several shades darker than the canvas

Can I get a chamois shade with a design painted on it?

No, I only paint on fabric lampshades.

Do you have frame sizes and styles other than the ones shown on the website?

Not really. Sometimes we have odd sizes kicking around, and it might be possible to special order some frames. It never hurts to ask, but we can't promise we can get it.

I placed my order through the web site shopping cart weeks ago, never heard anything from you, and haven't received my shades. Where's my order?

For various reasons, our Paypal shopping cart just doesn't function for some people. If you have pop-ups blocked on your computer, then our shopping cart won't work for you. If you give a shipping address that is different from the address where your credit card bills are delivered, Paypal may not allow the transaction because of their security measures.

I always send an order confirmation for every order I receive. So, if you don't get that confirmation, then I never received your order.

Ok, so how do I place an order if I can't use the shopping cart?

You can mail me a check or money order to pay for your purchase. Just e-mail or call me and I'll give you instructions. At this time, I can't take credit card orders over the phone. I can only accept credit cards via the shopping cart.

Can I get something different from the designs shown?

It's possible! I've done aspens with ducks flying behind them, and bears lined up around the shade in place of buffalo. Mixing and matching elements from different designs usually isn't a problem, as it doesn't require any new artwork. Changing colors is possible too, although there could be an additional change if I have to purchase paint. Send me an email, or call and tell me what you want, and I'll tell you if I can do it.

However, if you order a customized shade, it isn't returnable.
